<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by shortening energizing time of a fixing heater when area of an image region of a fixing object is small. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU of the image forming apparatus including the fixing controller discriminates whether or not a longitudinal direction of the image region G formed on paper is aligned with a longitudinal direction of the fixing heater. When they are not aligned with each other, the image region G is rotated by 90 degrees so that its longitudinal direction may be aligned with that of the fixing heater, to perform region conversion processing, and energizing control to energize the fixing heater (current I is applied to the fixing heater) is performed in a period (corresponding to subscanning width of the image region G after the region conversion processing) in which the image region G after the region conversion processing passes through a fixing roller being a heated portion by the fixing heater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
