PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in the case of connecting a plurality of printing apparatuses to one another and making the same paper pass through the apparatus and printed, since printing at both sides is stopped every time one side at the leading stage and the trailing stage stalls, performance is totally deteriorated in the case that the stalling state alternately occurs. SOLUTION: In a printing system, a paper delivery part of a first printing apparatus for printing using a first coloring material and a paper feed part of a second printing apparatus for printing using a second coloring material are connected to each other. The first printing apparatus receives stop detection information regarding the timing of a printing stop from the second printing apparatus, and feeds sheets for performing printing up to a page indicated by the information to perform printing using the first coloring material to prevent the stay of the fed sheets. The second printing apparatus detects the timing of a printing stop in an own apparatus, creates information regarding the detection and transmits it to the first printing apparatus.
