REINFORCING FITTING FOR WOODEN BUILDING, AND METHOD FOR REINFORCING WOODEN BUILDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce newly-built and existing wooden buildings of framework structure at a low cost and to reinforce them while permitting a certain degree of deformation to the horizontal force of an earthquake or the like.

SOLUTION: A reinforcing fitting 6 is mounted between two adjacent columns of the wooden building constructed combining wooden columns 3, 4 and horizontal members 5. The reinforcing fitting includes a first vertical member 11 vertically mounted to one of the two adjacent columns; a second vertical member 12 mounted to the other column 4; and a horizontal member 13 with both ends connected to the first vertical member and the second vertical member so that bending moment can be transmitted. The horizontal member is adjusted in flexural rigidity near connection parts to the first vertical member and the second vertical member to cause plastic deformation when the columns incline. One or more of such reinforcing fittings are mounted to the upper and lower sides to form a rigid-frame structure with the two columns 3, 4 and reinforcing fittings 6.
