<p>A processing method used during a UE (user equipment) requesting an SMS-only (Short Message Service-only) function and a device thereof. The present invention includes the following steps: a request message, sent by the UE, for SMS-only function is received; the network indicates the successful SMS-only function request to the UE; the UE operates in a CLASS-C MODE when it accesses through the UTRAN (Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network) or the GERAN (GSM EDGE Radio Access Network). The solution can solve the problem that when an SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node) deactivates the ISR (Idle State signaling Reduction) and the UE returns by accessing through the E-UTRAN (Evolution-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network), the UE is unable to use the SMS-only function normally. Also, the problem that when the UE switches between accessing through the E-UTRAN and through the UTRAN or the GERAN, a heavy network load is caused by high frequency establishments and removals between the Gs and SGs interfaces is solved.</p> |
