PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly reduce energy consumed in a water heater by efficiently recovering heat from heated effluent, as the warm water used in daily life, is conventionally drained without recovering heat. SOLUTION: Hot water remaining in a bathtub or the heated effluent from a drain passage is pumped up by a self-suction pump, stored in a storage tank, and guided to a heat exchanger to preheat the water supplied to the water heater in supplying hot water, thus energy combustion can be reduced.
