METHOD FOR ENHANCING BGP NETWORK SECURITY AND ROUTER THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for enhancing a BGP(Broader Gateway Protocol) network security and a router therefor are provided to efficiently prevent DRDoS attack by enabling a router to take an optimal countermeasure. CONSTITUTION: A first router receives a BGP SYN packet from a neighboring second router(S201). It is determined whether a BGP neighboring password is set on the BGP SYN packet(S102). The BGP neighboring password is compared with the prestored neighboring password(S206). A BGP SYN/ACK packet is transmitted to the second router(S211). The ACK packet about the BGP SYN/ACK packet is received from the second router(S212).
