PURPOSE: An OSD embodiment apparatus and method using a privacy mask are provided to simply set the function of a digital image processor with the minimum resource. CONSTITUTION: An OSD(On Screen Display) generating unit(181) creates an OSD menu with the usage of the coordinate of a privacy mask. A signal receiving unit(182) receives the control signal of a switching unit. According to the control signal of the switching unit, an OSD adjust controller(183) controls the created OSD menu. The OSD controller applies the controlled OSD menu to an OSD embodiment apparatus. A controller(184) controls the creation and control of the OSD menu using the privacy mask and the application of the OSD menu to the apparatus.
