<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically power-assisted bicycle enabling the easy and accurate adjustment of the pull (stroke) of a brake lever capable of stopping the generation of an auxiliary drive force to well stop the generation and apply the auxiliary drive force. <P>SOLUTION: A brake device 7 includes a brake body and a brake switch 22 selected in connection with the operation of the brake lever 20. A switch select position B where the brake switch 22 is turned on or off is set within the range S1 of the play between the open position A at which the brake lever 20 is not operated and the operation start position C at which the brake body is started to operate. When the brake switch 22 is turned on, an auxiliary drive force application function is stopped, and the brake lever 20 is operated from the open position A to the switch select position B.
