PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath/core conjugate polyester monofilament having a combination of necessary and sufficient tensile strength and extraordinary hydrolysis resistance, having such high thermoadhesiveness as to be restrained in occurrence of stitch deviations when, in the form of a woven fabric, used for a long period of time under conditions of elevated temperatures and high humidities, thus suitable as a constituent material for various woven fabrics, particularly industrial fabrics including dryer canvases for papermaking use, and to provide a woven fabric using the monofilament. SOLUTION: In the sheath/core conjugate polyester monofilament with both the core component and sheath component made of polyester resins respectively, the polyester resin constituting the sheath component is made of a copolyester resin whose melting point is 150°C or higher but lower than that of the polyester resin constituting the core component by 30°C or more; further, both of the components constituting the core and sheath components are made of the polyester resins having a concentration of a terminal carboxyl group of 8 equivalent/10<SP>6</SP>g or less, respectively, and having a tensile strength of 3.0 cN/dtex or higher as measured in accordance with the method defined in JIS-L 1013.
