Sealing strip and method for its manufacture

The strand has a reinforcement insert (3) embedded into a material of a seal. The reinforcement insert has a strand which is made of a thermoplastic polymer material and piercing in a strand longitudinal direction, and/or sections (4) that are arranged in a distance to each other in the strand longitudinal direction. The strand is extruded into an elastomer material of the strand seal under imbedding of the reinforcement insert. The strand is attached to a carrier flange. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a seal strand.
