PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a disc brake pad forming an inclined surface of a friction material using a molding die, which manufactures the friction material with even quality even when the flowability of the powdered raw material of the friction material is bad. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the disc brake pad includes a preliminarily molding step for pressurizing and hardening the powdered raw material without heating on a preliminary molding die, and a molding step for forming the inclined surface in the friction material by heating and pressurizing on a molding die with an inclined surface. An inclined surface at an angle larger than that of an inclined surface to be formed on the friction material is formed opposite a side stuck to a back plate of a preliminary molded article obtained by the preliminary molding step, and a thinned part is formed on the side stuck to the back plate.
