The inventive result is aimed at simplification of a device design and enhanced reliability of locking. The inventive objective is achieved by using an over-center locking device comprising a handle hinge-connected with lever hinge-mounted on first part of article, the free end of the handle has catching surface engaging with second part of article and fixing indicated two parts of article together when handle is arranged in position over center line. At the handle free end there provided a catching extension to form primary opening leverage in cooperating the handle with the second part of the article during an initial stage of opening the article. At the handle free end there provided an additional catching projection to form primary closing leverage in cooperating the handle with the second part of the article during closing thereof with the first part of the article. The catching extension and projection are arranged on the opposite sides of the handle in its longitudinal plane, wherein the handle catching surface is arranged between catching extensions. The cooperation of the handle with the lever is movable via a longitudinal groove in the lever and movably-arranged axis in the groove connecting the handle with the lever. A hook is made at the second part of the article adapted to cooperate with the main catching extension of the handle.
