POST WELD HEAT TREATMENT OF HIGH CARBON STEEEL

PURPOSE: A method of processing the rear of a welding part of high carbon steel is provided to enhance quality and productivity of a welding part of high carbon steel since in welding high carbon steel, the low-temperature crack is decreased and fracture strength can be increased, by quick rear processing. CONSTITUTION: A method of processing the rear of a welding part of high carbon steel comprises next steps. A welding part is maintained at a temperature of below TL((Ms+Mf)/2), after which the welding part is heated to a temperature of 750~850°C. The temperature of the welding part is maintained for below 10sec after the heating. The welding part is cooled. When being maintained at the temperature of below TL((Ms+Mf)/2), a period of time is below 1hour. The carbon content of the high carbon steel is 0.5~0.8weight%.
