The method involves determining distortion of incident radar waves (21) as a lining (2) of a vehicle. A radar sensor device is manufactured depending on the determination of the distortion of the radar waves such that distortions of the radar waves are compensated. A radar sensor i.e. patch antenna, of the radar sensor device is fixedly attached to the lining or integrated with the lining. The distortions are compensated such that a preset sensor diagram is formed when operating the radar sensor device. The radar sensor device is manufactured with an additional element. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing and/or receiving radar waves for a vehicle.
