摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently write image data of a VRAM from a line buffer. <P>SOLUTION: An image display apparatus is provided, including a line buffer 32 configured of two line buffers BL0 and BL1, which respectively hold a left half (left image) and a right half (right image) of one line's worth of image data, in which each buffer is independently operated by providing a writing-inhibition period so as to prevent conflict with reading of data in a VRAM. When a right image is written from the BL1 prior to writing a left image in the same line from the BL0 to the VRAM, the head pixel of the right image is not compressed and the second and succeeding pixels are compressed on the basis of the difference from the image data in pixels of the left side. When a right image is written from the BL1 after a left image is written from the BL0 to the VRAM, the head pixel of the right image is compressed on the basis of the difference from the image data of the last pixel in the right image already written in the VRAM, and the second and succeeding pixels are compressed on the basis of the difference from the image data of the pixels in the left side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
