PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device in which a part of functions of the portable terminal device are stopped by determining that the portable terminal device is in the pocket or in the bag when an object exists within a range of a predetermined distance from a cellular phone apparatus. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device includes: an object sensor section for detecting whether or not an object exists within a range of a predetermined distance; and a control section for stopping a part of functions of the portable terminal device when the object sensor section detects any object within the range of the predetermined distance.
