PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper folding device properly carrying out both of inward three-folding and Z-folding in proper directions with respect to recorded paper conveyed with an orientation of a recording face fixed. SOLUTION: The paper folding device has a second conveying passage L2 provided in a position facing a recording face side of the recorded paper toward a first nip part 26 of a folding part V, and a third conveying passage L3 provided in a position facing a rear face side of the recorded paper toward the first nip part 26 of the folding part V, as conveying passages continuous with a first conveying passage L1. It is composed such that the recorded paper is guided from the first conveying passage L1 to the second conveying passage L2 when carrying out Z-folding or outward three-folding, and the recorded paper is guided from the first conveying passage L1 to the third conveying passage L3 when carrying out inward three-folding.
