PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device which stably generates high temperature combustion gas by continuously burning solid fuel e.g. wooden chips and wood waste instead of liquid fuel and gas fuel for a long time or a long period while maintaining high combustion efficiency by smoothly supplying combustion air to a combustion region. SOLUTION: Within a cylindrical exterior cylinder body 1, a cylindrical combustion cylinder body 2 having a diameter and height both smaller than those of the exterior cylinder body 1 is arranged concentrically. An annular ash collecting space 3 is provided between the lower inner peripheral face of the exterior cylinder body 1 and the outer peripheral face of the combustion cylinder body 2. An air blower 9 is mounted to the upper end of the exterior cylinder body 1 in the arrangement to send air A toward the internal contact direction of the exterior cylinder body 1. An inner flange-shaped flowing guide part 7b for inhibiting the upward flowing of the sent air A and making the air A flow along the inner peripheral face of the exterior cylinder body 1 is provided, and a discharge port 7a of combustion gas G is formed in the central part of the flowing guide part 7b.
