Disclosed is a battery (1) provided with a cylindrical shaft core (45), and a rolled electrode (40) formed by winding a first electrode plate (10), a second electrode plate (20), and a separator (30) around the outer periphery of the shaft core (45). The rolled electrode (40) has a first rolled portion (44) formed by winding a first active material uncoated portion (13) of the first electrode plate (10), a second rolled portion (46) formed by winding a second active material uncoated portion (23) of the second electrode plate (20), and a power generation portion (42) which is positioned between the first rolled portion (44) and the second rolled portion (46) and which is formed by winding the first electrode plate (10), the second electrode plate (20), and the separator (30). The shaft core (45) has a power collection portion (45b) composed of a metal, which is comprised of a power collection joint portion (45d) connected to the first rolled portion (44) or the second rolled portion (46). The portions (44b) of the first rolled portion (44) or the second rolled portion (46), which are positioned on the outside of the shaft core in the radial direction with respect to the power collection joint portion (45d), are overlapped and welded to the power collection joint portion (45d). |
