A method for strengthening part by surface plastic deformation, in which preliminary strengthening the part is conducted by a tool, in which the working body has larger principal radii of curvatureandof working surface, and the final strengthening the part by the tool, in which the working body has smaller principal radii of curvatureandof working surface. Both at preliminary and final treatment each of working body is pressed against the part with an effort being normal to its surface and smooth transfer of deformation sites is carried out in such a manner that the sites consistently pass through entire surface of the part to be treated. The tool both for preliminary and finishing treatment comprises one or more working bodies in accordance with the radii,and,.
