<p>The method involves introducing supercharged air from a zone (38) of an intake distributor (30) to carry out residual exhaust gas scavenging operation. The supercharged air from another zone (40) of the intake distributor is utilized for producing a fuel mixture for a cylinder. A part of the fuel mixture contained in the cylinder is introduced into the latter zone by opening an intake valve, after the end of an intake phase of an engine. The intake valve controls intake pipes (12, 14) connected to the latter zone. The zones of the intake distributor are physically distinct from one another.</p> |
