SOLUTION: The wound closure device includes an elongate body 12 having a proximal end and a distal end, and a tissue facing plug member 14 coupled to the distal end of the elongate body 12, the plug member 14 includes hydrogel, wherein the elongate body 12, the plug member 14, or both, includes at least one reactive group.
