PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymerization toner having more homogeneous dispersion of a colorant and good image density. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polymerization toner includes a dispersion step of dispersing a colorant to obtain a colorant-containing monomer, a preparation step of adding an additive to the colorant-containing monomer to obtain a polymerizable monomer composition, a granulation step of granulating the polymerizable monomer composition to form particles of the polymerizable monomer composition, and a polymerization step of polymerizing the polymerizable monomer included in the polymerizable monomer composition particles. The preparation step is carried out by mixing the colorant-containing monomer with an additive in a stirring device that imparts high-speed shear force to the mixture, for obtaining the polymerizable monomer composition. The stirring device includes a stirring chamber composed of a fast-rotating stirring blade and a fast-rotating screen disposed to enclose the stirring blade and rotating in the opposite direction to the stirring blade. When the circumferential speed of the stirring blade during high-speed shearing process and the circumferential speed of the screen are denoted by A (m/s) and B (m/s), respectively, A and B satisfy 25≤A≤40 and A-10≤B≤A+10.
