<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system promptly raising temperature of an exhaust emission control device provided in an exhaust system. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control system sets an OC ratio based on the temperature of the exhaust emission control device in the exhaust system and controls a fuel reformer based on the set value of the OC ratio. Operation modes of the fuel reformer are classified, according to the set value of the OC ration, into three or more of a reform stoichiometric mode in which a proportion of hydrogen and carbon monoxide in reformed gas produced is large as compared with other operation modes, a reform rich mode in which a proportion of light hydrocarbon in reformed gas produced is large as compared with other operation modes, and a reform lean mode in which a proportion of oxygen in materials supplied to a reforming catalyst is large as compared with other operation mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
