PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling video recording without requiring complicated operation of a user in the case of, in particular, copy once. SOLUTION: A digital television 1 as this device for controlling video recording includes: a reservation means to reserve video recording; a determination means to determine copy control information of a content to be recorded; and a selection means to automatically select a recording apparatus when the content is determined to be of a type of "copy once" allowing the content to be copied only once by the determination means.
