The silencer (2) has partitions (8) that are arranged in such a manner that two groups of outer cells (10-26) are formed in a gap between a housing (4) and a flow channel (6). Wall material of the flow channel is porous. The outer cells of each group exhibit a length from respective interval. The intervals are neighboring to each other and exhibit respective width that is 0.1 times of the hydraulic diameter of the flow channel. The volume of the outer cells is 1.0-1.2 times of volume of inner cells (28-44) that are surrounded by the outer cells and formed in the flow channel. An independent claim is also included for an aircraft comprising an auxiliary power unit.
