PURPOSE: A vacuum valve is provided to reduce damage to a strip and ensure improved sealing of a valve opening when closing the valve with a strip drawn through the valve opening. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum valve comprises a valve housing(1), a valve seat, a closure member(9), and one or more sealings(10,11). The valve seat surrounds a valve opening of the valve housing. First and second seat-main sections of the sealings are arranged across each other in the axial direction of the valve opening and connected together through first and second seat-connection sections. First and second sealing-main sections(14,15) and first and second sealing-connection sections(16,17) are allocated in the first and second seat-main sections and the first and second seat-connection sections, respectively. The first sealing-main section is arranged in the front side(18) of the closure member. The sealings are stretched in the center of the first sealing-main section. Side walls and a bottom wall which define a groove are formed by the closure member over at least a second part of a longitudinal extension part of the sealings. |
