PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel achieving low cost and preventing a reduction in durability of an inner ring caused by corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement. SOLUTION: In the bearing device for the wheel including a sensor cover 22 externally fitted to the end of the inner ring 5, the sensor cover 22 is formed substantially in an L-shape in cross section by press working from cold-rolled steel to which zinc-based rust-proofing is given, and a detection part 16a of a rotational speed sensor is housed and protected by the sensor cover 22. The sensor cover 22 includes a cylindrical fitting part 22a externally fitted to the end of the inner ring 5, an inclined part 22b gradually expanded in its diameter to the inner side from the fitting part 22a, and a standing plate part 22c extended radially outward from the inclined part 22b.
