PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to prevent the short circuit at an electrode assembly end part and to relieve the change of outer dimensions of a battery by preventing volume expansion of the electrode assembly caused by swelling phenomenon by initial charge-discharging of the secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly(10) formed by interposing a separator between a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate; a pouch case(20) including a receiving part in which the electrode assembly is accommodated and a cover part sealing the receiving part; and a reinforcing member(30) installed between the pouch case and the electrode assembly.
