PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply constituted structure 1 for reinforcing a sliding shutter, which can also reinforce the large-sized sliding shutter 9. SOLUTION: This structure 1 for reinforcing the sliding shutter is equipped with a shutter plate 5 which is guided by a pair of guide rails 3 provided at both side edges of a building opening 2 and which can open/close the building opening 2. The structure 1 includes: a pair of rails 4 for a reinforcing body, which is each provided along the guide rail 3 on at least either of the indoor or outdoor sides of the guide rail 3; the reinforcing body 6 in a longitudinal shape, which has ends slidably held by the pair of rails 4, respectively, and which is erected in close vicinity to the shutter plate 5; a wire rod 7 which suspends each of the ends of the reinforcing body 6 from above and which almost horizontally holds it at a predetermined height; and a rotator 8 which can wind the wire rod 7.
