A method of running an interactive multi-user application at a terminal of a communication system, according to which the terminal accesses a server of the communication system to create or update thereat, using a set of application-agnostic tools implemented at the server, a slave process corresponding to the interactive multi-user application. The terminal then communicates with the slave process to provide and receive state-vector updates corresponding to the application group running this interactive multi-user application. The state-vector updates are used by this terminal and each of the other terminals from the application group to concurrently calculate and track the global state of the application in a mutually consistent manner.
