PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hoisting machine for an elevator, which can be assembled accurately and uniformly over the entire circumference without using a special assembling device and adjustment work for the air gap between the outer circumference of a permanent magnet of a rotor and a stator inner circumference of an armature. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft 8 includes a shaft center 8c, an intermediate part of the rotating shaft 8 is supported to a first shaft stool 5, one end of the rotating shaft 8 is supported to a second shaft stool 6, a sheave 7 is fitted between the shaft stools, the rotor 2 is fitted to the other end of the rotating shaft 8, the armature 3 fixed to the first shaft stool 5 at part of a presser ring 35 is disposed on the outer circumference side of the rotor 2, a first contact face 35a on the armature 3 side is formed into a protruding shape from part of a conical surface sharing the shaft center 8c, and a second contact face 5a on the first shaft stool 5 side is formed into a recessed shape from part of the conical surface sharing the shaft center 8c.
