<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of suppressing degradation of the efficiency of light emission due to influence with light emission. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device 1 includes: a substrate 11 composed of an inorganic material; one or more light-emitting elements 13 mounted on the substrate by metal paste or low melting point glass; a glass substrate 16 arranged opposite to the mounting side of the substrate 1 mounting the light-emitting element; and a phosphor layer 15 which is formed at least on one surface of the glass substrate and excited by light emitted from the light-emitting element to emit visible light. The glass substrate is supported on the mounting side of the ceramic substrate mounting the light-emitting element through a supporting member composed of an inorganic material and space is formed between the glass substrate and the light-emitting element.
