PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper holder, preventing a roll paper held on the roll paper holder and a take-out opening for the roll paper (a paper piece) from being contaminated in use and while being held, and facilitating use of the held roll paper. SOLUTION: In this roll paper holder including a cover provided extending from the upper rear of the rolled paper holder to the front side, the holding direction (the rotating direction) of the roll paper is set so that the roll paper is drawn out from the take-out opening not on the front side, but on the rear side. Thus, the roll paper is drawn out from the rear side and cut by a cutter provided on the front side, so that the cut end (the next cut end at the take-out opening) of a remaining roll paper is naturally hung down in the rear. Therefore, the next cut end to take out naturally hung down in the rear is located in the back of the roll paper holder, so that the next cut end can be protected and prevented from being contaminated by a protective cover and the roll paper holder body.
