PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and surely prevent the leakage of an atmospheric gas without deteriorating the quality of a steel strip by surely sealing the inner part of a continuous heat-treating furnace which continuously heat-treats the steel strip. SOLUTION: The sealing device 0 has a sealing box 1 arranged in a space between a zone 1 and a zone 2, in which airtightness is required. The sealing box 1 includes: a pair of partitioning plates 3 arranged so as to sandwich a steel strip 2 in a noncontact state; a pair of sealing rolls 4 arranged so as to sandwich the steel strip 2 in a noncontact state with the partitioning plate 3 and the steel strip 2; a sealing-gas-supplying nozzle 5; and a secondary sealing-gas-supplying nozzle 7. Thereby, it becomes possible to partially increase the pressures of two gaps between the sealing rolls 4 and the partitioning plates 3, suppress the growth of an accompanying flow F1, also increase the static pressure of the internal space of the sealing box 1 in which the sealing rolls 4 are placed, suppress the inflow of the atmospheric gas into the sealing box 8 due to the fluctuation of the pressure, and further secure the sealability of the end of a transportation line for the steel strip 2.
