PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of outputting a detection result and of being usable more without fail, in a calculation portion for calculating the rotation angle of a rotor. SOLUTION: A device includes a first rotation angle sensor and a second rotation angle sensor for detecting respective rotation angle of a first driven gear and a second driven gear rotated by a torque applied thereto from a gear attached to the rotor, and an ECU for operating a rotation angle of the rotor based on detection results inputted from the first rotation angle sensor and the second rotation angle sensor. At least either of the first rotation angle sensor or the second rotation angle sensor outputs a pulse width modulation signal having a duty ratio, corresponding to the detected rotation angle so that either the edge of a leading edge or a trailing edge becomes a period determined in advance, and a time acquired by adding a time TP determined in advance to a time corresponding to the detected rotation angle is set as the time from one edge until the other edge.
