PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize power consumption during standby, while ensuring safety of a system as a whole, without selecting the use of power feed by a signal line or the use of power supplied from a commercial power supply as power at standby for each device to be controlled in a remote control system for remotely controlling a device to be controlled by a central control unit or a relay control device. SOLUTION: The central control unit or the relay control device remotely controls a plurality of devices to be controlled connected by the signal line, and superimposes a DC voltage required for operation of a communication unit and a control unit of each device to be controlled on the signal line. When the DC voltage is not less than a prescribed value, each device to be controlled supplies the DC voltage to the communication and control units of each device to be controlled as standby power, and interrupts the commercial power supply connected to each device to be controlled. Then, when the DC voltage is less than the prescribed value, standby power is switched for DC voltage supply to the communication and control units of the device to be controlled with a DC voltage obtained, by converting the commercial power supply a prescribed value or more as standby power.
