PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce energy costs required for conveyance, and to reduce the occurrence frequency of any failure due to early deterioration caused when the use time of driving parts accumulates. SOLUTION: A paper money conveyance system 1 is configured to convey paper money 2 input from one or more input parts 3a in a conveyance line 3, The paper money conveyance system 1 is provided with: a plurality of conveyance unit devices 6 configured to convey paper money 2 in a temporary stoppable state, and to form a conveyance line 3 by connecting the upstream side and downstream side of the conveyance direction between the adjacent devices 6 and 6; a safe device 4 arranged at the downstream side termination position of the conveyance line 3 for storing the paper money 2 conveyed by the conveyance line 3; and a conveyance controller 5 for acquiring the position information of the paper money 2 in the conveyance line 3, and for making each conveyance unit device 6 perform the conveying operation and the temporary stop operation so that the storage space of the paper money 2 in the conveyance line 3 is filled up.
