SEDUM SARMENTOSUM PROTECTS THE LIVER AGAINST THE ACUTE TOXICITY OF CARBON TETRACHLORIDE IN RATS

摘要

PURPOSE: A Sedum sarmentosum extract with an effect of treating liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride is provided to regenerate the liver and to improve physical and mental health. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing Sedum sarmentosum extract comprises: a step of crushing Sedum sarmentosum by freeze-drying and soaking in methanol for 24 hours; a step of extracting with hexane, ethyl acetate, and butanol in order; and a step of concentrating the extract. The effect of the Sedum sarmentosum extract is confirmed by measuring GOT and GPT activities.
