PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-dressing agent composition that exhibits excellent setting power and imparts a good finger-combing property and smoothness to the hair after it is applied. SOLUTION: The hair-dressing agent composition comprises at least a linear fatty acid, a fatty acid bearing a hydroxy group, a fatty acid having a branched chain, an oily component other than fatty acids, an alkali and water, or comprises at least a salt of a linear fatty acid, a salt of a fatty acid bearing a hydroxy group, a salt of a fatty acid having a branched chain, an oily component other than fatty acids and water.
