Provided is a loop heat pipe system capable of efficiently activating a loop heat pipe that is in a state of not being activated by the temperature rise of an evaporator. The loop heat pipe system is provided with a loop heat pipe (101) for cooling a CPU (32) and the like, a heater (21) provided in a steam pipe (15) thereof, and a controller (31) for operating the heater (21) in order to activate the loop heat pipe (101) that is in a state of not being activated by the temperature rise of an evaporator (11), and thereafter stopping the operation of the heater (21) when the temperature change caused by the conversion of a working fluid into a condensate occurs in a portion near the evaporator (11) of a liquid pipe (17) of the loop heat pipe (101).
