1,026,436. Cooling bag seals; seaming non- metallic sheet material. FR. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. May 25, 1964 [July 4, 1963], No. 21458/64. Headings B5D and B5K. Bags 1 (Figs. 3, 5), made at A by transversely sealing and severing a thermoplastic tube, have their bottom seal cooled by means K as they-are transferred to the filling station B. In one configuration (Fig. 3) reciprocating suction grippers 4 carry the bag 1 between tubes 12, 13 provided with holes 14, from which cold air is blown. In a second configuration (Fig. 5) two suction grippers 4, 4a moving intermittently, carry the bags to stations C or D respectively, where the bottom seal is cooled between jaws 18, 19. The jaws 18, 19 may be air- or liquidcooled. Draw grippers 2 (not shown) which feed the bags to the suction grippers 4, may also be provided with heat-cooled jaws which completely cover the bottom weld. |
