<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a master cylinder for a brake of a motorcycle, to save a space and simplify a structure, and to improve a maintenance property and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In the master cylinder 2 for the brake integrally provided with a sub tank 7 for supplying hydraulic oil for the brake on a master cylinder main body portion 6, an upper end portion of a bag-shaped diaphragm 29a in the sub tank 7 is attached to a cover 29 at an upper end of the sub tank 7, and the inside of the diaphragm 29a communicates with outside air. An oil separator 38 has substantially the same diameter as a cylindrical inner surface diameter of the sub tank 7. The oil separator 38 is fitted with the cylindrical inner surface of the sub tank 7 at a position separating downward from a lower end portion of the bag-shaped diaphragm 29a. A small hole passage 38a through which the hydraulic oil passes is formed on the oil separator 38. The sub tank 7 is equipped with an opening portion 35 at a position capable of checking oil remaining amount.
