<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine improving the NOX catching performance of a NOx catching catalyst and providing a high NOx conversion rate by releasing NOx caught by the NOx catching catalyst at an appropriate timing. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 1 includes: an Ag catalyst 42 provided in the exhaust pipe 4 of the engine 2 and catching NOx in exhaust gas by carrying at least Ag; an LNC 43 arranged in the exhaust pipe 4 downstream of the Ag catalyst 42 and converting NOx in exhaust gas; a hydrogen supply tool supplying hydrogen to the Ag catalyst 42 by supplying or generating hydrogen, in the exhaust pipe 4 upstream of the Ag catalyst 42; a release determinator determining whether or not NOx caught by the Ag catalyst 42 is released; and a release executor reducing NOx caught by the Ag catalyst 42 and releasing it by supplying hydrogen to the Ag catalyst 42 by the hydrogen supply tool when the release determinator determines to release NOx caught by the Ag catalyst 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
