PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting device that readily holds an optical apparatus to keep a viewing field horizontal. SOLUTION: The supporting device includes: a supporting unit (4a) that rotatably supports an optical apparatus (2) with an optical system (L) around the optical axis; a regulation unit (4c) that regulates rotation to the supporting unit of the optical apparatus; and a control unit (40) that controls a restraining force of the regulation unit according to the tilt of the viewing field where the range of an image of the optical system is predetermined as a rectangle.
