A domain name processing method and a domain name server are provided by the present invention. Said method includes: an inquiry request is forwarded to a second stage domain name server of a home domain of a subscriber when the inquiry request of a non-local domain subscriber forwarded from said second stage domain name server of an initiator is received; and an inquiry result is forwarded to the second stage domain name server of the initiator when the inquiry result fed back by said second stage domain name server of the home domain of the subscriber is received (104). The present invention enables realization of exact division of working of two stages of domain name servers in a domain name server system and strengthens the convenience for data management. The workload is reduced, and ratio of redundancy and error of data are reduced; thus the work efficiency of the domain name server system is improved. |
