The device has a shock absorber unit arranged between a wheel carrier or a transverse control arm of a vehicle and a body. A spring (2) is supported with an end (2a) on a spring plate (4) that is assigned to an absorber (1). The spring plate is adjusted toward a longitudinal axis (A) of the shock absorber unit by an actuator (3) that is connected with the spring plate. The actuator is fastened to a part of a chassis, which is provided in a fixed positional relationship to the spring plate. The actuator is tiltably arranged at the part of the chassis.
