SYSTEM FOR REFINING UMG SI USING A STEAM PLASMA TORCH

PURPOSE: A system for refining UMG Si using a steam plasma torch is provided to maximize refining effect of an UMG silicon by applying an optimum steam plasma to an UMG silicon refining. CONSTITUTION: In a system for refining UMG Si using a steam plasma torch, a cold crucible is arranged within a vacuum chamber. The cold crucible is divided into segments by a longitudinal silt. The cold crucible additionally includes a magnetic field penetration cover(11) surrounding the upper part of the cold crucible. An UMG silicon supplies unit supplying an UMG silicon to the cold crucible in the vacuum chamber. A steam plasma torch is arranged in upper part of the cold crucible.
