The plug (1) has a contact end (2) i.e. flat pin, contacting an electrical component, and another contact end (8) contacting an electrical cable. An electrical safety device (4) i.e. surface mount device safety device, is arranged between the contact ends. The electric safety device has a contact section (5) that electrically contacts the former contact end, and another contact section (6) that electrically contacts the latter contact end. The electrical safety device and/or one of the contact ends are arranged in a plastic casing (7) that is strengthened by glass fibers.
