The panel (1) has an opaque viewing frame (4) and a non opaque viewing section (5) inserted in the opaque viewing frame. Adjacent area (7) of the viewing frame attached to the viewing section is formed in color similar to the viewing section in unlighted cooking area. The viewing section and the adjacent area of the opaque viewing frame exhibit a sample e.g. line (6) and point. The sample exhibits a darker background (8) in the adjacent area, where the color of the background is grey. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a panel.
